Although it is true that most newer homes are not all brick.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-13164186.post-1138206005140086062006-01-25T11:20:00.000-05:002006-01-25T11:20:00.000-05:00ed-90% Have you seen any new houses in the DC are...ed-

90% Have you seen any new houses in the DC area that are all brick?

I have not.

They seem to be making all brick houses in Texas (where house prices are 1/3 to 1/4 what they are here), so there are still bricks out there.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-13164186.post-1138202541033451772006-01-25T10:22:00.000-05:002006-01-25T10:22:00.000-05:00I totally prefer brick then the vinyl siding.I totally prefer brick then the vinyl siding.Davidhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11169148764438565562noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-13164186.post-1138201532799861332006-01-25T10:05:00.000-05:002006-01-25T10:05:00.000-05:00dc_condo_watcher:You're right. What is the deal wit...dc_condo_watcher:

You're right.

What is the deal with the brick front/ vinyl siding in the DC area?

It seems to me all new construction, or even anything in the last 15 years or more, is brick front with vinyl siding. That's fine, if you want to charge a lot less. But when I was growing up (the 70s), plenty of working class houses were all brick. Nowadays, in Dallas, TX, houses that cost under 200K are all brick. Why are DC-area developers skimping on the brick so much?

It just makes the bubble even sillier in my mind. People are paying $600,000 for huge monstrosities made of plastic or aluminum.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-13164186.post-1138197616958587702006-01-25T09:00:00.000-05:002006-01-25T09:00:00.000-05:00I knew this was Ashburn before I read it. I hate seeing these expensive houses with vinyl sides. What a joke.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
