  1. If prices don't start dropping soon in the montgomery county area, I'm going to just telecommute with from Florida instead of working in a cubicle here in DC. I honestly miss Florida where you can buy a 2,500 square foot home on water front property for $120K.

    I still cant understand people willing to pay $400K for a 700sq ft, water damaged, home built over half a decade ago. Though I guess you would get used to the stench of the sewers if you live in them long enough.

    Two of my co-workers are doing just that. I've been considering the same thing (although I have an office rather than a cube, thankfully). From my searches on Zillow, I'd say $120K for Florida property is realistic, but not for waterfront property. $120K can get you a free-standing house in Florida, but double that will only get a townhouse in the outer suburbs at best in this area.

    Yeah sorry, I havent seen what the going rates are for homes at the current moment. I was born and raised in Jacksonville and moved to Miami for 15 years. I was thinking in terms of cost for properties when I lived there, not now....though after price declines its not that much different.
