Presidential Candidates Attack Each Other Over Their Houses

  2. Yeah, but the average American doesn't have the patience or the time to go into a substantive discussion of the issues. But trivial nonsense like the number of houses is something that is perfect for a sound bite and doesn't require explanation.

    The Democrats have been schooled time and time again on this. Sad as it may be, clearly this stuff works.

    Clinton tried to get some mileage out of Rezko, but it never really caught hold. McCain on the other hand has the Keating Five scandal in his background - it remains to be seen if that comes up.

    Ironically that scandal had to do with a S&L failure caused in part by highly risky investments and slowdown in the real estate market which led to a recession. Hmm, that general scenario sounds rather familiar these days...
