McCain Fights for Who?

My heart sank when I heard this line in John McCain's convention speech on Thursday:
I fight for Americans. I fight for you. I fight for Bill and Sue Nebe from Farmington Hills, Michigan, who lost their real estate investments in the bad housing market.
Bill and Sue Nebe would not have lost their real estate investments if they had made sure they could afford their real estate investments. But don't worry, President John McCain will rescue them from the very unfair free market.

  1. Still better than a socialist market under Obama.

  2. Bill and Sue Nebe are real estate agents. Their website is http://www.teamnebe.com.

  3. McCain just seems to have adopted all of the neo con positions - and most of what he does and says is to assuage the Republican base. His pick of Palin is a thumb in the eye for Independent voters.

  4. Nice catch on the Bill and Sue Nebe. So I guess that their comparative market analysis is worth jack - anyone know why Housing Panic is shutting down? I was tired of Obama fanfare on that site and could never vote for a communist

  5. Vote for McCain and whine for next 4 years. It all depends on your evaluation on past 8 years. Isn't this blog the results of that past 8 years?

  6. True, vote for McCain and whine for next 4 years, vote for Obama and whine for the rest of your life....

  7. It looks like our choices are John "Fight for real estate agents" McCain or Barack "ACORN" Obama. I suppose McCain is more slightly likely to throw the REIC under the bus, but we're probably better off voting for Bob Barr.

  8. Socialist market under Obama???

We already have socialsim in the US - for big companies at least. $30 billion for Bear Stearns, $300 billion for Countrywide, $400 billion for Fannie/Freddie, and that's just for starters. Now add in IndyMac and the other banks have have failed and will fail.

I doubt there has been a bigger transfer of wealth from the working class to the rich in all of human history. And you're worred about "Socialism" under Obama? LOL

  9. It can't be that long before McCain and Palin make the magic link, and start promising that if we Drill! Drill! Drill! now, soon all our foreclosure problems will end.

Still better than a socialist market under Obama.

I really wonder if a clown like you can even give a coherent explanation of what "socialism" is. The way most Americans use it, it's about as meaningful as "Communism" was a generation ago, or "Satan" half a millenium ago -- an all-purpose bugaboo word, expressing nothing but the speaker's distaste for something. It's vacuous.

And there's that, too. Well said, anon.

  10. neither entrenched party is palatable. gotta give this Bob Barr/Libertarian a look.

and yes, we've been a "socialist" country for decades now. Obama can't possibly make it any worse unless he invades Iran, something McCain and his chief wingbat/foreign policy advisor James Woolsey are sure to do.
