  1. Ok Dave, I'll take a guess what this pic is about ... Your new condo? "Sunshine is the best disinfectant" ... You've seen the light?

David, this house has been listed on Craigslist for months and months and months. It is way way overpriced for the area. I hope you will mock it in one of your characteristic wry blog entries.

  3. David,

Not really related per say to this entry but did not know how else to bring your attention to some great articles on the housing situation. It comes from great sources like the Economist and sources the facts. A little scary. Here is the link.

  5. David,

    Classic

Realtors just lie through their teeth. This one property DC 6198917 was listed March through August for 750K owner bought it in 2002 for 420K. Now relisted for 649K but 50K for parking. It is listed as new construction in the POST ... IT IS NOT! RECENTLY RENOVATED...not in the past 4 years...the previous owner who bought it for 265K did do work. Looked at this place in 2002 and again over the summer...NOTHING NEW OR CHANGED and the realtor lied to me and told me the current owner had done the work. (I knew full well this wasn't the case)

All to avoid that "PRICE REDUCED" aspect ... and it is still overpriced. Condo fee is $700/mo which they don't put in the add.

Typical Seller Greed and Realtor "Marketing."

  7. Anon 5:52,

Jeez, I can't help but think you feel that the realtor should be working for you instead of the house seller who has engaged his services. Do you take everybody's word for everything in life? If you're really interested in the place, get your own inspector in there and bargain for an adjustment on the price based on your inspector's findings. Complaining that the seller and their realtor haven't gone out of their way to ensure that you are getting the best deal possible won't get you very far. Take some personal responsibility and stop counting on others to take it for you.
