Due to some abusive comments this blog will return to comment moderation. Blog Rules: In order to create a more perfect blog, these are the rules that will be followed. Additional rules may be added as necessary.
1) I shall be the final decision maker as to what comments are acceptable on this blog.
2) Any personal insults directed at me or commentators on this site will be deleted. Calling me or others 'stupid', 'moron', 'pathetic' is NOT allowed. Ad Hominem attacks are not allowed against me or commentators. [However, one can call a particular comment 'pathetic', 'moronic' etc if they give a reason.]
3) Any comment that is entirely unrelated to the post is highly likely to be deleted. [If the post is about foreclosures and you comment about conditions in the Chinese prison system].
4) Any comment which uses foul language such as 'f*ck', 'sh*t' or is obscene is highly likely to be deleted.
5) Commentators often ask for more evidence when I post. This is acceptable. Please bear in mind that I have a full time job and can't answer everyone's questions or requests. Attacks against me for not responding to a question or comment are prohibited.
6) Statements that clearly are false will be deleted, unless it is clearly sarcastic. [China has less land mass then Singapore. Or everyone in China is wealthy.]
7) Publishing personal information about about me or commentators on this blog is not allowed
8) If there are any questions regarding blog rules please email me at bubblemeter@gmail.com.

David,
ReplyDeleteThank you for returning to comment moderation. It is unfortunate that all these bubbleheads have been able to cause such havok on your blog.
why are you so down on China lately?

ReplyDeleteDavid,

That is not my post. It is the imposter/blog intruder/Bill trying to stir up trouble. (He tried to post an alternative to David's blog about a year back, but failed miserably.)
An easy way to differentiate between his posts and mine is Bill is not able to make his profile available. IF he did, it would look way different from mine ... Just click on his link ... and then on one of mine from an old post where you are sure it is me ... you'll see what I mean.
I really hope this character isn't representative of BHs.
it is unfortunate that you allow lance to post false statements and insults clearly intended to anger people, and then he whines for when they get the better of him.
ReplyDeleteYou and Lance buddies? Screw this blog.
ReplyDeleteWe are guests of David in HIS blog.
ReplyDeleteI will continue treating him and his other guests with civilized respect.
Thank you David, this way we can focus on discussing the decline in home prices. If I may suggest also requiring a username? The most abusive comments were by anons.
ReplyDeleteInteresting comment by Lance... I should note that Lance was unduly the target too, but let's just say my perspective is that it was the bulls who liked to throw out the cuss words. But we're moving on.
The idea behind blogging is to learn about a topic. In this case the housing market with a focus on DC. Naturally this will lead to side discussions on the economy, job market, banking, construction, apartments/condos, and a few other topics.
Hence my segway:
I keep reading on how the various mortgage companies are going to keep cutting back products before the end of 2007; this will really help those of us with a down payment saved up (no competition).
Got popcorn?
Neil
actually, is the above comment a violation of rule #4, being completetly false? Afterall, there are a few BHs that got out of control but the larger percentage of people that have been reaking havoc are HHs!
ReplyDeleteBob
Lame! It was much more interesting the other way.
ReplyDeletecountywide just sent me some spam.

Well, we had a few weeks where this blog had enjoyable dialogue. I guess that's over.
ReplyDeleteDavid,
ReplyDeleteI know it means more tedious work for you, but I'm pleased that you're going back to comment moderation to keep the trolls away. The anonymous posts are vexing as well, since anon posters make it hard to follow the threads. One problem at a time.
Regarding other matters, the WaPost today had an article about how mortgage lenders are now requiring whopping 5% down payments. It's actually a BFD to some prospective buyers who have no business buying in the first place. I recommend that visitors here check out the McGarvey family's situation as discussed in the article. Does something not add up? Hmmmm.

I would like the blog to stay focused on the DC area. Enough with the broad stats.
ReplyDeletePeople who want to act like children, impersonate others, insult others, and swear, etc., should go to flamewar.blogspot.com. Don't do it here.

David, This isn't my post. "Bill" has found a way to use other people's registered names ... He's succeeded in making it impossible to have true discussions on your blog.

ReplyDeleteI'm sorry. I confess. I was one of the people impersonating Lance. I saw someone else do it, and Lance got so upset I couldn't resist piling on. I don't want this blog to go down hill, so I won't do it anymore.
Bill (or maybe someone else)
LOL
ReplyDeleteYou have to admit it is pretty funny watching the troll get trolled lance.
